On Wednesday of last week, a monsoon hit New York City while I was launching The Trust at the Mysterious Bookshop in New York City.
It was impossible to find a cab, and the subways were flooding. My sister and her significant other made the party thanks to a guy on a bicycle rickshaw, who agreed to take them halfway across town. The streets were a mess.
A large number of intrepid friends braved the weather to make the trek. Many thanks for helping me launch my new thriller, which Janet Maslin of the New York Times described as "money porn." Pictured below are my good friends from Bronxville, Mary Massa and Ann Parks.
Thank you to everyone who joined me that evening.
Why do I miss all the fun? It was sunny and 92 degrees here in Sacramento.
Any sharks in those flood waters around Wall Street?
Congrats, Norb!
